About LACBC

The Lake Arrowhead Classical Ballet Company is a non-profit organization located in Southern California’s San Bernardino Mountains. The Company’s commitment to the development of classical ballet is expressed in two major aspects — training the dancers and encouraging community appreciation of ballet as a performing art. The two go hand in hand. We are proud to have been nominated Non-Profit of the Year for 2016 by Lake Arrowhead Chamber.

Auditions

In order to join the Company, dancers must participate in open auditions before a panel of judges. Dancers selected will study for apprentice programs, corps de ballet, soloist, and principal roles in the Company’s repertoire.

Lake Arrowhead School of Dance

The Lake Arrowhead School of Dance is the Classical Ballet Company’s official school. The school provides the primary training ground for our dancers. Classes are held throughout the year in ballet, jazz, tap, and related disciplines. A summer-intensive program is offered for serious students wishing to enhance their skills. This program offers dancers an opportunity to participate first-hand in the discipline, professionalism and commitment necessary to become part of a professional company.

Additional Training

We also encourage our dancers to audition for training programs at other ballet schools and companies throughout the United States. Schools to which our dancers have been accepted include the Milwaukee Ballet, the Joffrey Ballet in New York and San Antonio, the Pennsylvania Ballet, the Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle, the Houston Ballet, the State Ballet of Oregon, the Colorado Ballet in Denver, the San Francisco Ballet, Ballet Met in Ohio, the Pittsburg Ballet, the Kirov Ballet in Washington, the Bucklyn Ballet, Ballet West, and the American Ballet Theater.

Support

The Company relies on the generosity of volunteers and private donors to support its activities. Many members of our community in and around Lake Arrowhead have contributed their time, talents, and financial support to make the Company possible.
