Artistic Director

Sharon McCormick

Founder and choreographer, Sharon McCormick established the Lake Arrowhead Classical Ballet Company in 1993. Due to widespread support by the community for previous ballet productions, she felt that the formation of a ballet company would provide a means for talented dancers to further their training to professional standards in classical, contemporary and original repertoire.

With her signature ballets, status as a gifted teacher, and her creative choreography, McCormick brings her flair for the unusual as well as the established to the company.

For McCormick, the school is the heart and lifeline of a company. Just as she demands exactness in technique and scrupulous attention to fine points from company members, she instills in the school the same touchstone of excellence.

The Soroptimist International of Lake Arrowhead presented her with the Woman of Distinction Award (Arts and Cultural) in 1997 for her work with the young and her contribution to culture in the area. Her students audition and are accepted to major companies throughout the United States. She also was a finalist for The Senator Morrell Women of Distinction Award (Arts and Cultural) for 2016.
